A Heart

A  heart

within the wall

it comes crashing

across an arctic horizon

And everything is rearranged

and all stones have been rolled over

and all tombs have been uncovered

bones unearthed

souls broken free

And along the gentle descent

of an opalescent arctic shift

a fire lit in an igloo glows

it’s heat like a candle licking

in the middle of an ice built room

And a breath and a soul

curl from lips in the cold

the girth of a heart kept battened down

a load

an outpouring

as heavy

but as light

as vapor

in the igloo

And a pair of cheeks painted warm

fire lit like candle

along the gentle shift

of an opalescent descent

against an infinite unraveling night
